The Walk-in Foodbank is our flagship service but do you know how to use it?

Accessing the Service:

To use the SVP food bank service you first need to register with us as a client. This is a simple process that gathers some very basic information about you to help us provide you the best possible service. You will be asked to provide:

  • Your Name

  • How many people live in your accommodation with you

  • Your contact details (address and telephone number)

  • How you hear about our service

  • What services you need access to.

Once you are registered, you will be provided with an anonymous client card with a barcode/QR code on it and your client number. We use anonymous numbers to help protect your privacy.

SVP Office - St Thomas Church - Mon & Wed 10:30am to 12 noon
St Mark’s Church Café - Tues & Thurs 10:30am to 12 noon

When is the Walk-in Foodbank Open?

WEDNESDAYS
2pm until 3:30pm

SATURDAYS
9:30am until 11am

PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST BOOK IN A MINIMUM OF 30mins BEFORE CLOSING TIME

How often can you come?

When you come to the walk-in food bank you are able to get a set amount of food which is generally geared around a single person’s allocation. We divide what you can have into 4 components”

  • Food (Available once every 7 days)

  • Baby Supplies (Available once every 7 days for those registered for the service)

  • Hygiene and Washing Products (available once every 31 days)

  • Electricity (Available once every 31 days between 1st October and 30 April)

While we try and provide some choice to our clients, the food we provide is fairly generic. A client has some choice between flavours of product within each category. Generally you are allowed the following:

FOOD:

  • 1 x Soup

  • 1 x Meat

  • 1 x Fish

  • 1 x Pasta/Spaghetti/Rice/Noodle

  • 1 x Pasta Sauce

  • 4 x Tinned Vegetables

  • 1 x Baked Beans

  • 1 x Biscuits

  • 1 x Tea or Coffee

  • 1 x Sugar or Jam

  • 1 x Milk

  • 1 x 6 Eggs (when available)

PARENT & BABY PRODUCTS:

  • 1 x Packet of Nappies

  • 1 x Packet of Baby Wipes

  • 1 x Tub of Baby Formula

  • 4 x Baby Meal Sachets

  • 4 x Baby Fruit/Pudding Sachets

  • 1 x Butter (When available)

  • 1 x Cereal (When Available)

HYGIENE PRODUCTS

  • 1 x Shampoo

  • 1 x Shower Gel

  • 1 x Toothpaste

  • 1 x Toothbrush

  • 1 x Deodorant

  • 1 x Packet of 5 Laundry Tablets

  • 1 x Dishwashing Liquid
